So do "happy Father's Day to my boyfriend" cards even exist?
I found "to my husband" cards and "to the father of my children," but neither of those apply.

The generic "happy Father's Day to a special man" cards almost universally feature "hey, big guy, today is your day to relax!" with images of golfing, lounging in a robe and slippers, sporting events on a big-screen TV, and other pastimes that, apparently, fathers are supposed to do on Father's Day. The type of cards I would have given to my own dad when I was 9 -- not the type of cards I would give to a romantic partner now.

I'm looking for a paper card, but a search of a few e-card sites haven't been any help either.

Any suggestions?

4. Yes.
Although I can imagine the passive-aggressive use of a Father's Day card on an unsuspecting boyfriend:

"Happy Father's Day, honey!"
"I'm not a father?!?"
"Um...well, I have something to tell you!"

(I should add that this is certainly not the case.)

2. I don't think most people give those sorts of cards.
But you could always take the funny route and cross out "to my husband" and write "to the guy shack up with"

5. But there are cards for everything!
There are cards from the dog!
There are cards *for* the dog!

I'm actually thinking of getting a Jesus card. (He is not religious whatsoever, and neither am I.)

3. just buy him beer
screw the card :P

cards just end up collecting in a large pile somewhere... then there is this tremendous guilt factor about throwing them away later...

7. That's how I always feel about it.
I tell the people I love that I love them regularly. I don't need some cliche ridden Danielle Steele-wannabe hack to tell them for me.

8. geez - you got that right.
"But that's the first Father's Day card from her"

Well, no, not really. That was from you because she was 1 and didn't have the capacity to go buy a card.

Or the scribble ones. I have a "drawing" in my office created by an 8 month old. Why can't I throw it away???

9. I'm a big fan...
...of the blank card. Your own words in your own handwriting is so much nicer than the generic cheezy Hallmark fluff.

11. The card industry is quite ridiculous
I would go for something that strikes your fancy on the front that is blank on the inside.

OR, make your own. Though some might think it childish, it still hasn't failed me.

18. What about "the guy whom I am fucking?"
You lose the "with," and gain a few more characters.
