Do grandaddy long-leg spiders harm tomato plants?

I've found quite a few on mine and I can't figure out if they are eating the leaves or just hanging out.

I know it's bad luck to kill 'em.

1. I always smoosh them while they're still daddy long-legs.

3. No, don't kill them!

They are absolutely wonderful spiders, for they will kill many other unwanted insects, both in your garden and in your home. They are harmless to plants, animals and humans, but will keep the other bugs under control.

I never kill them, I just re-locate them in the yard but I'll leave them alone now on the plants.

4. no, they're beneficial predators....

Natural biocontrol agents. And not actually spiders at all, despite having eight legs. Google "harvestman" or "Opiliones" for more info.
