I must have seen them at 10 festivals.

at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. They put on a very good show. Jim Dandy was one nasty performer.

9. Oh my god my mom LOVED them

There's a picture of me, as a wee babe, late 70's, wearing an oversized Black Oak Arkansas T-shirt.

Back in those days, you could take cameras to concerts. My mom has about a billion pictures of Jim Dandy, from the front row, potato in pants and all.

My mom wasn't a groupie, but knew alot of bands and partied with them (Black Oak, Allman Bros, Alice Cooper, etc)

You know that song "What's Your Name, Little Girl?"? well that song was written about my mom (seriously).

BOA was a pretty damn good band, as I recall. They had a sense of humor and didn't take themselves too seriously. They were a lot of fun.

he said that it was quite a kick to hear THAT voice booming, "Baby, where's mah cigarettes?" in the middle of the night.
