Poll question: Leftie, Rightie, or Ambidextrous?
I'm a rightie, but I throw Frisbee left-handed. Also, my left forearm is really strong for some reason...

1. Born leftie...
but forced as a child to use right hand.
Since, I am ambidextrous.

2. Most people who are
ambidextrous are so b/c they were forced to write right handed as a child. Talk about mean! I can't imagine being forced to write left handed. It just isn't natural for me at all!

4. Sinister here
For writing at least; I do mouse-work with my right-hand, I hold my fork in left and knife in right.

I'm just not going to speculate on the strength of your left forearm. :P

5. I'm ambidextrous with a mouse, but prefer it on the left
I'm right handed and when I first started using a mouse, back in '91, to me it made sense to use the left hand so my writing hand was free.

It actually feels more natural on the left now and I love watching workmates try to use it.

9. I use the same logic in reverse - mouse with right, write with left
'write with left' Hm. That sounds funny.

6. Ambi
I can switch off when I want to. Though for reallly fine work like writing, I am right-handed.

But for other things: painting, sewing, or things requiring a good deal of strength, I can switch off.

7. Ambie....
Sort of a mix - write with my right hand, eat, sew, use a scissor. Throw a ball with my left hand, bat, bowl, golf. More righty than lefty on balance, but still a mix of both.

22. I could never play baseball
Edited on Fri Jun-17-05 08:47 AM by notadmblnd
I was right handed till I was 4 and broke my arm climbing up to get a Popsicle out of the freezer. I learned to write right handed (but it was all backward from right to left with all the characters backward too) but broke my arm again in the second grade and switched to left permanently.

When it came to playing baseball I caught with my right hand and threw with my right hand so I would have to catch the ball take the glove off and throw the ball, I hit left handed though and I bowl left handed. It took me forever to use the mouse right handed.

I really do think that my internal struggle for left/right dominance has left me accident prone ... I have stupid little mishaps all them time.

8. right
but nearly ambidextrous.

I can write left-handed, and with a bit of practice, it'd be as good as with my right.

11. Ambie
Born left handed, but was always taught how to do stuff by righties.
I golf, bat, hammer, saw and and use scissors with my right hand. I can print quite well with my right hand, but have very nice left-handed penmanship. Yes, when I'm in a hurry the letters will lean backwards a bit.

My right hand is useless in that reguard. Perhaps because it was self-taught!

25. Ambie - but it's not what you think. I do some things as a left handed
person and some things as a right handed, but I can't switch them back and forth. I could never learn to write with my left hand, but I did gymnastics and skated like a left handed person. It's really weird.

27. Arrrrrrrgh. It depends on what I'm doing.
Right hand for writing, right and left for painting, left for eating, left for using scissors. But this doesn't constitute ambidextrous, does it?
