black labs but they are all so wonderful. If you have a choice of colors why not go play with them all and see what lab picks you?

11. Golden retriever.

Actually, one of the best dogs I ever knew was our old buddy Ole, half lab & half golden. If you ever get a chance at that particular mix, I highly recommend you take it.

13. I've had 3 labs and 2 Goldens and I loved all of them.

I think they are the best dogs there are. I have 3 dogs now, 1 mini pin, 2 mixed breeds. I always swore I would get another Golden!

I have a wonderful, funny, smart, cuddly, loving, clever, magnificent chocolate lab!! She is my first 100% lab, I've had one shepherd/lab mix before (Ripley, RIP).

she is "cabin tired" ... home after spending time at the 40 acres "up north" Michigan where she and brother Pete get to run barenaked, play in the creek, chase sticks and generally have a great doggie time.

17. Get the puppy that appeals to you! We drove 150 miles to

see a litter with two chocolate males whose parents had "certified hips." Our two previous Labs had been chocolate males and wonderful dogs. My husband, though, fell in love with a yellow female with gorgeous eyes (she looks like she has eyeliner all around each eye) and she has been a great dog. Labs are The Best!!!

and she is the sweetest dog, hands down. Its a tough choice between the colors, they're all sweet dogs with a great disposition.

30. If you can't decide, go with an open mind.

And don't go to a breeder or a pet store - get 'em from your local rescue group.

They have lots of young ones.

They need the homes.

Put the pet stores and the breeders out of business until such time as there are no more animals in any shelters.

But why don't you just go without a predetermination in your mind and see which one wants to adopt YOU? I think that you will find a great match if you let them come to you.
