I'd like to first say hello to everyone here on DU. I don't know the proper etiquette involved when joining this forum, so I'm just gonna let everyone know a little bit about me.

My name is Andrew, I'm a 21 year old college senior in New Jersey, and I'm a Democrat.

Nearly all of my friends as well as my parents are Republicans so it is enormously frustrating talking politics with any of them, that's why I'm glad I found DU.

After graduation I eventually plan on going to law school and I want to become a civil rights attorney.

I'm currently supporting Dean in the primary, but am very close to switching to Kerry or Clark.

Nice of you to stop in and introduce yourself. Hey, what are you majoring in for your undergraduate degree? What's good to go into for pre-law? I'm an English major, btw, at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

My major is in Economics. Regarding what is a good major for law school, the general rule is that all majors are represented in a freshman law school class, but some do prepare you better for the analytical type thinking associated with both the LSAT and law school itself. In recent surveys the hard sciences, along with philosophy and economics were the majors of high LSAT scorers. Whether or not this is just pure correlation I don't know.
