1. Car Wheels on a Gravel Road is one of my favorites.
She blows away the competition.

2. Yes, and she's the namesake of my schnauzer.
My son named her Lucinda after Lucinda Williams. :D

6. that's neat
this is new music to me - I've only been listening to it for less than a year. After 19 years in the South (ex-New Yorker) I finally found a strain of country music that I like a lot.

4. Well I Don't Know About That!
I really enjoyed Lucinda in the 80's but have found her much unimproved lately. A couple of months ago we attended a fundraiser here in L.A. that she did for a friend's private nursery school and we were so disappointed. She was cranky, rambling, and hostile to the audience, and her usually fragile but poignant voice sounded cracked and broken.

It was either a REALLY off night or there's something up with her.

IMO, she was better when she collaborated with Gurf Morlix -- those were her best albums, now she seems kind of floundering.

7. Best American Singer/songwriter right now, hands down
I'm thinking of hitting the austin city limits music fest in Sept to see her live again. I have all of her discs except for the new live one

9. I like her, but i don't think she's ALL that. She does a duet
with Jimmy Dale Gilmore called "Reunited." I love that one. Otherwise, I think she's good songwriter with a great voice and moderate vocal skills. I'll spin an Emmylou Harris CD over Lucinda any day.

12. When I cry like the sky, like the sky sometimes.
Am I too blue?

Bought the self titled CD a few months back. It has been in the car CD changer most of the rest of the time. Great road songs by a REAL country artist.
