and once again...pictures...
kissing out on lake shasta

Safety First!

she knows how to swim, but I thought it would be smart if she fell out
while the boat was moving if she could come up to the surface and we
could see her for a rescue. fortunately, my idea was never tested.

she loves me, and I love her

and then there are the KITTENS!

If it weren't for the animals in my life, what would I be? Sad, probably. :-) (and I would have a much lower post count, for sure)

1. That little white cat has an attitude.
Is it the one who starts most of the tussles in the house?

3. oh yes. that's cotton, the boy.
He is very agressive, but so is the black one, and I think it is a girl, by the looks of things. Not so sure yet with that one. Cotton eats the most and plays the roughest, he is also the biggest. The only one that can make him mad is the runt, the other white one, Squeak, she takes a lot of abuse, but when she decides to fight back, watch out! The tortie is the watcher and the lover.

5. Watch the Tortie it will become a stinker.
We have one and yes she is loving at times. But she gets into the most stuff. Makes the most noise and generally is in the center of the mayhem that happens in the house.

7. I am hoping that my friend adopts her so I can see how she turns out.
She is the cuddliest of them all, just loves to sleep on me while the rest tear about the room. Not that she doesn't play, she does! her back end gets ahead of her front, and she runs on her two front legs, it's hilarious!

9. Well Snickers our Tortie.
Edited on Sat Jun-18-05 01:46 AM by texas1928
We named her Snickers for two reasons. One she looks like a blended up Snickers bar. and Two, when she plays she makes this noise like she is snickering. Though when she got fixed, she started this thing of howling like a wolf. She gets at the highest point she can in the room and puts her head toward the wall, preferably a corner so it echoes, and goes ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWRRRRRRRR, I tell her to quit howling at the moon.

14. that's awesome!
I love that meow. I can imitate it very well, and love to 'talk' to cats with it. The get so interested in me, and sometimes respond in kind. I wonder what I am saying. :-)

I grew up with a white cat that would do that against a wall in the entry of the house. We always said he was talking to ghosts. I swear that cat saw shit that we couldn't see...I miss Tinker, he was a crazy mean cat, but I loved him anyway. he died in my arms, my aunt couldn't bear to be there (it was her cat- got him when she was 6, she's two years older than me) but didn't want him to go alone. so she asked me to take him to the vet and be with him. He knew, at 17 years old, that it was time. And he knew that i loved him. I was kind of hoping he'd bite me one last time, for old times sake, but he just purred.

sheesh. didn't expect that memory just now! thanks for reminding me of an old friend!

16. I am sorry.
Yeah I hate it when something reminds me of pets I lost. I still get tears when I see a pic of a cocker spaniel. I miss my KatyB. She was a good dog.

18. that's okay, I am better for having known him!
I don't mind remembering, the thank you wasn't sarcastic. it makes me sad, but it would make me sadder if I forgot him. Pets just fill a space in our hearts that cannot be refilled, we just find a new spot for the new animals and our hearts get bigger and stronger for it. for you and katyb.

20. Well I hate being sad.
I hate crying. It took 11 years for me to cry again. I do not like to make people feel sad. I know how much you miss your passed on pets. I miss mine. I miss my Joli so much. She was a great cat. I miss Dickens as well, he was my buddy for so long.

4. these kittens have killed a few here...
I am amazed every time that I wake up in the morning for another dose of cuteness. I love them all, and will have to work towards saying goodbye soon. They are eating well and going in the litter box now. All that is left is getting them spayed and shots. :-( I think I just might cry.

11. LOL! you are up late! it's not even midnight here...
I would die without my camera too. I love it. batteries kick my ass though. I have three sets of regular rechargeables, and I drain them like crazy. I just hate to throw away lithium batteries, that just can't be good for the environment.

just for you...

13. Foxy lady! Whaaaa wa, wa wha wa waaooo...
(Jimi Hendrix version)

Thanks for that. :)

I just got home from work, actually, and I'm winding down before bed. I'm taking a little trip this week, and had to get a bunch of loose ends tied up before I go, so I had to stay REAL late. Ugh. Got most of them taken care of, I think. Wasted an hour because the **employee** at the UPS store decided to lock the door 5 minutes early...grrr.

Deliberately NOT taking the computer on the trip, so try not to miss me TOO much, Fleab.

Leave Sunday, so in the meantime, MORE PICTURES!!

:begging:

did you see this one?

that's the ugly face. It works best when I am talking with it on...I can keep the flared upper lip and nostrils until I start laughing... it looks so silly.

19. Lovely... the eye-crossing is a real talent!
Obviously years of practice when you should have been paying attention in class! :)

I'm sure these skills come in handy on the job, discouraging long conversations with unpleasant associates, etc.

Thanks again, Glambo!

Waaaay too cute...And the kittens, whooo boy are they something. Looks like their eyes have cleared up nicely, as well...I hope that they all get really good homes.

Kudos to you for such an outstanding job! :toast:

17. thanks!
they seem to turn away from the camera rightbefore I take it most of the time! I catch a few good ones though.

I feel like a bad mom right now. we just found a couple of flea's on them...and they are due for the second treatment, but it means they can't come upstairs until they are flea-free! :-( And I have a flea repellant thing in the basement too! I feel like shit.

But their eyes ARE better! And they are growing like crazy!
