I've never been woken up like this before
Around 6 this morning I heard loud singing. I live in an apartment complex, and there's a guy a few doors down who loves to sing loud (and badly to boot) while standing outside his front door. Last year it was almost all Elvis tunes. Well this morning I couldn't figure out what he was singing. His words were kinda slurred, no real melody going on. I laid there for a while trying to figure it out, but finally put the pillow over my head and went back to sleep. Around 7, I was woken up again by the dog next door barking. The guy was still at it outside singing. But I finally caught 2 lines that sounded like Iron Man. I'm left wondering not only why he feels the need to sing loud outside, but what made him switch from Elvis to Sabbath? Is this going to be a permanent thing? Because the Elvis tunes never made the dog bark that way.

1. Elvis to Sabbath
this guy has a broad catalog with which to annoy his neighbors.

2. Just another Karaoke wannabee
If he starts singing Pat or Debbie Boone songs I think you can shoot him and the judge will let you off. I'm not sure about Sabbath though. :smoke:

4. At 6 in the morning?!!
Have you complained to the complex manager? Have you called the cops? Have you gone out with a baseball bat and threatened severe bodily harm?

God, I'm glad I live out in the sticks!

6. I did complain once
The manager asked me to try to let it go because the guy's "got some mental health problems" and he lives with his elderly mother. This is the first time he's been out that early that I know of.

5. sounds like an old boss of mine
I use to have a boss that would go through weird music phases. Like the six months he only wanted to play his Def Leopard or Celtic music CDs at work.

It was almost as bad as the neighbors I once had that were obsessed with what I can only describe as the barber shop quartet version of Jesus Christ Superstar.

7. LOL - "the barbershop quartet version..."
I can almost picture that and it's frightening! I once had a guy next door to me who for several hours one day kept playing "Snoopy and the Red Baron" on his record player (remember record players?) over and over again. I think he was trying to learn the lyrics (though god knows why) because he'd play about 30 seconds, then snatch up the needle and put it down again and play the SAME 30 seconds - again and again and again until I was about ready to smash my head repeatedly against the marble fireplace (or better yet HIS head). Then he'd move on to the next line and do it again - it was excruciating.

I don't remember what I did in the end - probably started drinking. :silly:
