2. Sadly, yes, you can already predict next year's headlines
No, we don't need you, McCartney. We need John Lennon.

4. Now that isn't nice. You can like both you know. And Macca has
spoken out against Bush and campaigned for Kerry.

7. why do we need John and not Paul?
neither of them was much without the other. They were better in the Beatles than they were alone

9. LOL !!! - I Always Love These Disputes...
McCartney or Lennon?

Gilmour or Waters?

Kath or Cetera (Chicago)?

The only reason these guys were any good at all was because they had each other to bounce ideas off of and learn from. Once they have honed their skills and become master musicians and song writers, they tend to naturally want to explore their own ideas in artistry. But... I don't believe they would have ever gotten as far as they did, without each other.

For melodies and sing alongs, generally it's Paul. Although John was quite good at that as well. For politics and avant-garde, John was the man (and my favorite too), but Paul wasn't a piker here either.

I love them both, I love them all, so... Let It Be.

That said... when it comes to Rogers and Hammerstein, give me Hammerstein any day of the week!!!

:hi::rofl::hi:

13. I don't understand why it has to be one or the other.
It's not McCartney's fault that Lennon is no longer here.

23. It doesn't have to be that way.
Some people just choose to be bitter over something that cannot be changed. And I feel sorry for those people. All four Beatles brought something to the mix, and I've never thought of one above the other. I have my favorite (George) but it isn't like I discredit the others for their contributions. People do it to Paul all the time. I wasn't alive at any point during the Beatles career, but even I know that the special thing they had was never due to one particular band member.

I think something that's interesting to note is that as the Beatles, Paul and John were more successful than apart from the group. Both had decent solo careers, but none of that matched anything they did with the Beatles.

8. Tee hee hee! I fear my wait is almost over!
But then, I don't have Paul's money! He should be considerate of my feelings and let me live vicariously! Snort! Only joking. I wouldn't want him to turn into Robert Stack!:7

10. The hair dye is bad enough
What is it with old guys who think really dark hair with white roots showing is a good idea?

Christopher Walken has gone that route, too, and it makes me really sad.

just sloppy. And poorly dyed, flat looking hair on an old face is ridiculous. But a bad face lift is actually worse. Some of these people look embalmed!

17. With all that money,
and access to all the best colorists, don't you get the feeling they're Grecian Fomulaing it up in their bathrooms by themselves?

Speaking of face lifts, I just caught up with the two opening episodes of "Six Feet Under" this new season, and Joanna Kerns, who was always such a great-looking woman, has gone the Botox route. It's actually hard to recognize her, and when I did, it was infinitely creepy.

She looks just like herself, only part dead. Not bad for that show, I guess.

19. Happy Birthday William Campbell!
If this is your actual birthday, that is.

(of course the REAL Paul died in 1966. Campbell replaced him)

25. MJ did buy The Beatles catalog, but sold them to Sony...
and Sony may still own them but holding publishing rights is different from holding the copyright. In a perfect world the artist still gets paid. (yeah- right!)

Last I heard MPL was buying back the catalog from Sony.
