Poll question: Blatant commercialism? "Eaten missionary's family get apology"
The residents of a Fiji village have apologised to the family of an English Christian missionary who was eaten by tribespeople 136 years ago.

Then they start promoting tours for visitors...

4. I hope you're hungry for pig, and not "long pig."

11. Are you sure?
Pigs are smarter than any of the missionaries I've ever met.

2. You'd think they wouldn't want to remind everyone that someone was eaten
there...

especially if they're trying to attract tourists. Even if that tribe no longer exists the whole thing is still super creepy.

3. Any promotion that involves cannibalism is bound to be a winner.
The only way this would get any press is with the apology for eating one's descendant.

7. Yep, I suppose it could be viewed as a smart business move...
or the crassest thing I've ever seen.

6. They apologized, sure, but did they promise not to do it again?
And just why are they attracting new visitors to their island? Just how desparately poor are they?
