Who has seen "Anchorman"?
I like Will Ferrell. I didn't have terribly high expectations for the movie, but I expected that it would at least be cute and a fun little diversion for a couple of hours.

My husband and I got about half an hour into the movie and had to turn it off. It was so unfunny. It was almost painful to watch. I'm glad I didn't waste a trip to the theater on it.

1. I didn't like it. It had a few laughs, but nothing close to what
it was built up to be.

4. I liked it especially the Bush slam at the end.
Steve Carell's mentally retarded character becomes high ranking official in the Bush administration!

Sorry you didn't like it, "Why don't you go back to whore island!"

I laughed, not my favorite movie, but plenty of deep chuckling
.

3. Highly disappointed....
I seriously thought that the premise was brilliant and ripe with material and yet it was like the writers/producers, whomever really didn't take it to the limits it should have gone.

5. I liked it. The death brawl between the rival news teams was great
Wes Mantooth: Nice clothes, gentlemen! I didn't know that the Salvation Army was having a sale. Am I right? Am I right? Look at these guys!

Brick Tamland: Hey! Where did you get those clothes? At the toilet store?

6. I thought it was hilarious
The news team gang fight was one of the greatest scenes ever captured on celluloid in my opinion.

18. Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast!
Champ Kind: It jumped up a notch!
Ron Burgundy: It did, didn't it?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart!
Ron Burgundy: I saw that! Brick killed a guy! Did you throw a trident?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident!
Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

Now why did I use the money I had leftover from Boston on a Brazilian Foreign Film. With apologies to City of God as it was a kick ass movie and worth while investment.

I'm a bit of a foreign film geek, so I expected it to be good, but it was even better than I had expected.

What other stuff has your brother recommended? I'm willing to bet my brother has even worse taste.

Last summer, every day for about two weeks I would wake up and go downstairs to see what was on satellite tv and my brother would be sitting there watching Biker Boyz.

31. City of God
and I think you would like it. Its about this Brazilian guy in Rio who is an amateur and inspiring photographer who gets caught up in the crime activity there. Its really well done, it covers his life from when hes about 10ish to his 20's. Its based on a true story.

35. Yeah you should, I thought you would be interested
in the fact that Rocket, the protagonist is a photographer. If I recall the music is really cool too, I like Brazilian music and the acting is great too. Its a little disturbing at times but its not like Scarface which I feel has violence for the sake of violence.

later lost his job on a football broadcast team for sexually harassing John Madden I think, oh and theres this.

Harkin: OK, I understand. Uh, you have a nice day sir, goodbye.(on phone)
Corningstone: I can come back later Mr. Harkin.
Harkin: Oh, no, no, just parent stuff. Seems our youngest Chris was on something called acid and was firing a bow and arrow into a crowd. You know how kids are!
Then therse the conversation with him and the sister about porn hahahah.
