Ever throw together some ingredients and make a good recipe?
I found this cube of mixed grain rice the other day in one of my moving boxes, and had some leftover cajun pork sausage.

I sauteed half an onion and half a bell pepper with 2 cloves of garlic, some paprika, parsley, salt, black pepper, and some cayenne tossed in a cup and a half of rice and 3 cups of beef broth (4 cubes of bouillion, so sue me :) )along with a small can of sliced mushrooms and let it all simmer. While it was still slightly al dente I crumbled in the pork sausage and stuffed them in some bell peppers and topped with bread crumbs and baked for about 10 minutes (I like my peppers to still have some crunch to them).. until the top was browned.

I'm making this again, and not by mistake. :)

1. Yep.
Cooked hamburger, nacho cheese soup, and a little thickening served on cornbread.

3. Sure have. Most notably, years ago,

my parents called to say they were coming to see me. Yikes! Whatever I was going to feed my daughter and myself for lunch was insufficient to feed four people, and it was going to be lunchtime when they got here. The larder did not look promising, either.

I improvised a great soup with bacon, onion, celery, garlic, chicken broth, and spaghetti. I didn't have a lot of anything but you don't really need a lot to make something good. I probably served some garlic bread with it. My parents raved over my soup and, after lunch, my mom wrote it out as a recipe for both of us.

I always liked that show on the Food network which gave the chefs a small amount of money to concoct a meal.

4. That's how I generally cook.
Sometimes it works, and sometimes .... :puke:

I don't do well following exact instructions.

5. A Couple of Years Ago...
...I had 2 hamburger patties, some Kielbasa and some pepperoni that had to be cooked before they went bad, so I cooked, chopped and threw them in with a couple jars of spaghetti sauce.

ChicaAzul and I LOVED it, so now I have 2 sauce recipes, my mom's and mine.

In fact, We had this just last night!

7. Oh, yeah.
Pulled all the leftover bits off a roast chicken, cooked up one of those saffron rice packages, sauteed some onions and celery, threw in some peas and simmered it all in coconut milk and curry. Yummy.
