I'm baaaaaaaackkk

We cut our vacation short by one day. Arrived home around 7pm last night.

Originally we had planned to come home on today. We cut things short for a couple of reasons.

Most of the people we hang out with every year stay a few extra days, but this year everyone was heading out on Sunday. And then there was our air-bed. It sprung a slow leak somewhere, and we couldn't find it to attempt a patch job. With my aches/pains and my partner's back - the thought of sleeping on the hard cold ground was not an option. Enny-whooo, after having breakfast with the group, we decided to pack up and leave early - especially since the clouds had rolled in and it looked like it was going to be a cold, damp and possibly rainy day

We had a great time. Weather for the most part was ok - not as sunny and warm as we would like it, but acceptable.

My partner came face to face with a deer and her fawn on Saturday morning. She was walking up the path from our campsite, heading for the bathrooms, less than 5 feet from where she was standing - all of a sudden a deer and her fawn stood up from a patch of tall grass. They stared at each other for a couple of minutes, the deer and fawn just ambled away.

On our way out of Shendandoah (big Meadow) we stopped at the Wayside camp store for ice and munchies. A van/SUV pulled in near us and sported a bumper sticke -- Bush Lied - People Died. I told the driver I liked his bumper sticker - he nodded and said "Yeah people either like it or hate it, nothing in between"

Our cats were fine when we got home. We pick up our dogs from the kennel in a few hours, tomorrow we pick up the foster dog and once more our house will be filled with woofs and meows...
