What are you doing for Halloween?
Me? Wifey, kid and I are going to give candy out to trick-or-traters, while I play Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" and "Alladin Sane" all the while kicking back the green fairy :-D

1. Me and Kayla are sitting here, waiting for the monsters
Kayla is my protector, a 75 pound golden retreiver with a deep bark that will scare off any bad guys.

3. Never had it without
But I can reccomend Absynthe Original from La Boheme...that stuff has the highest amount of Wormwood (think its like 10% or some insane amount like that)

You can order it online, but I gotta warn ya it takes about 2 weeks to get!

BTW...I think Absynthe without wormwood is called "Pernod" but I could be wrong...

8. At the risk of sounding like a Tarantino flick...
I't legal to own...and legal to buy...just illegal to sell.

You can order it legally from UK and Canadian sites. I order mine from http://www.laboheme.uk.com

The original stuff costs $91 per 750 ml bottle, but its worth it at 10% or whatnot wormwood content.

BTW...just a quick note of caution, wormwood is legal to buy in the US, but it IS A NEUROTOXIN! DO NOT DRINK IT BY ITSELF. You won't get a buzz, you'll die.

The distillation process takes the deadly elements out of the wormwood.

9. You know it's a little-known fact...
People don't generally know this, but absinthe has actually been produced in the United States since the mid-1950's. Yep, it's true. Of course real absinthe has been outlawed in the U.S. for some time now, but an American company had the creative idea of calling it something else and branding it as an antiseptic - "Listerine."

Now I haven't tried this myself, but I'm told by people who "frequent" my neighborhood that the hallucinations and withdrawals are every bit as disturbing and wrenching as with the foreign product. Not only that, but when you're cooling out in the drunk tank later that night your cellmates will appreciate your winter-fresh breath (even while you're jabbering about centepedes with baby's heads and shark teeth crawling from the corners of the walls). Is there anything America can't do better?

14. I kid...
(I'm actually kind of a fan of absinthe...I finished off a bottle of Fruko Schulz from the Czech Republic not too long ago. Within reason it was great, but one night I went too far and the next day was PURE HELL).

OMG...Absynthe hangovers are EEEEVIL
When I was in Prague I met these women from the UK...we went clubbing and drank quite a few bottles of Shulz between us all. Anyway, I had a great time and swore I was walking on air.

Next morning my head felt like it was being jackhammered....didn't help that the hostel I was staying was run by this guy who REALLLY loved Heavy Metal. Pretty much 24x7 he was blasting Scorpions, Slayer, Ozzy, etc. Cool guy, but hangovers + Metal do not mix well.

17. marking papers ... scary!
Especially since the first few I've looked at suggest that the students were unable to name a war that's taken place since they were born, which did not involve the USA.

Frightening for so many reasons ....
