What MUSIC concerts/shows/festivals will you be going to this summer?
Of course all of my local festivals. I'm a local junkie. But I'm really hoping to go see Black Eyed Peas. And if I can go see Green Day again, I'd shit gold ding dongs! What about you? What are you looking forward to?

1. I'm hoping to see Alexisonfire a week from today
Then there's Figer Eleven, K-os and The Tragically Hip at a local festival.

And Pearl Jam in September.

15. Haha, that's assuming I can even make it
Rumour has it Queens of the Stone Age are opening (though it hasn't been announced) so I'm expecting that to be an amazing show.

Frankly, though, I'm more excited about Alexisonfire, haha.

Only time I've ever seen them perform was on SNL when Will Ferrell played cowbell for them. They were alright then, I thought.

2. Probably none
It seems like since I hit 30 that concerts and festivals just don't do much for me anymore. I even passed up a free ticket to see my favorite band right now: Muse.

11. I guess I'm feeling pretty damn old
I probably lived about 40 years when I was in my 20s. Now days I'd rather find a good fishing hole down at the river than hop in a mosh pit at a concert.

19. Just the music created by nature
I still love music and I listen to it all the time while I'm on the computer and out driving for my job. I'm just not into the concert scene anymore. My current favorites are "Absolution" by Muse and "The End Of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage.

41. The Proms
About 2 months of daily concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, some of the very best musicians/orchestras/choirs &c. on the planet.

It's perfectly possible for me to go to work, then hop on a train into London to catch the concert - have a quick drink with a chum afterwards, and get home. There's a goodly number of concerts I'd like to go to this year - including Giulio Cesare on what is allegedly my birthday. :bounce:

47. One of the greatest Blues Fests in America!
The Mississippi Valley Blues Fest. 40 bands, three days, five stages! We have an absolutely ass kicking lineup this year, including Marcia Ball, Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials, Magic Slim and the Teardrops with John Primer(real Chicago Blues folks), Joe Bonnamossa, and Ike Turner headlines this extravaganza. At least two other shows I am attending this year are ZZ Top at the local fair, and Green Day at our arena. Very good year for music, even for us old guys.

Edited on Mon Jun-20-05 02:47 PM by Bluzmann57
But a local vendor, Jim's Rib Haven is there every year and these are some damn fine ribs. They were featured on the Food Channel at one time. But the Blues Fest is all about the music. C'mon over! You'll like it. But beware, motel and hotel rooms are going fast. There is camping available at a few local parks though.
