Tom Savini on IFC tonight...a surprise fest!
Edited on Fri Oct-31-03 06:42 PM by khephra
Starting at 8 pm et we get a full night of uncut horror films hosted by the master of Gore, Tom Savini!

ALL NIGHT LONG, BABY!

No one knows what's being show yet, but each year they have TOP grade horror classics that you don't see on tv, like Texas Chainsaw or Rabid.

Tonight's the night!

Then, if the lineup sucks, change it to AMC at 10 pm when Clive Barker will be hosting a lineup of indy short films.

1. Neat!
Savini was such a nice guy when I met him at some horrible film convention we were both guests at - I didn't even mind it when he stole a copy of my flick!

Monsterfest - the ONE time a year AMC is any good. Ever since they started doing commercials and dropped the Stooges, I find little reason to watch it... ENOUGH WITH THE GODDAMN JOHN WAYNE MOVIES!

3. "Devil Girls," a flick based on a pulp novel by Ed Wood Jr.

I will never do another convention again, I had visions of myself doing the same schtick at age 70, desperately begging guys in Batman t-shirts to buy my crap.

Its kinda depressing when you're on the other side of the table.

Still, fun meeting all the DAWN OF THE DEAD people.

Once Bush gets out of office, maybe we should talk. I'd love to run a few ideas past you, but I'll never have the time when there is someone like Bush in office.

5. Khephra, I know the feeling
One day, I was a silly filmmaker making obscure but marginally profitable black and white campy features.

The next, I'm an unemployable lunatic documenting the rise and fall of some Fourth Reich.

I expect we'll all have a good laugh at the end, but right now... WHEW.

6. If only we could come up with a good political comic book
Do it as a mini...spend months without doing anything, and hopefully selling the rights to our idea before the mini is even on issue 2.

Hey, it could happen! It's happened quite a few times actually.

7. BTW, You're the only person who will probably get this...
But I fucking dream Grant Morrison's dreams, I guess....

I dreamed the end of his "THE FILTH" series years ago and thought it was unworkable. Sighhhhhh....

10. You lucky bastard
One night of Grant Morrison's dreams would be more exciting than a whole year of mine! I'd rather dream The Invisibles, though.

11. Yeah, it sounds cool
But try being a non-name who thinks up a giant pen of god and shit as being the major element of creation.

13. All I need is a shoebox and some art supplies
I think my problem is mostly that I'm insanely manic, the minute a project is over, I start 5353566 new ones rather than promote/market existing stuff. I get bored easily.

Where are those mythical angelic agents chomping cigars? Mr. Pitch, i'm ready for my Faustian closeup!
