111° and no freaking air
the A/C guy was by and said the condenser was iced up. I'm supposed to have just the fan on for two hours, then try turning it to cool and restarting it. He'll be by in the morning to check the freon levels.

I'm sweatin'! This is Phoenix at its worst! ZW if I could drive I'd be on the road to Flag.

I've had to do that before -
Is it possible to stay in a hotel or motel for the night? I live in South Texas and no AC is one of the worst things that can happen. It doesn't always work after it thaws. Good luck. :hi:

9. Me too.
How far south are you? I'm along the coast.

It was a little cooler early this morning, probably in the low seventies. With fan blowing hard, I can even get a little chilled in my pj's.

no way I can get chilly here - all my poor grass and flowers are dying because it's so hot and no rain since I can't remember when. :hi:

3. I live here too and that is crap. They can melt the ice and fix it on
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 09:05 PM by smartvoter
the spot. I had the same repair three times before I isolated the leak that caused it -- first one did that crap you are experiencing, the other two did it right. It takes them about a half hour of extra work to melt the ice away by turning on the heater and using a torch.

You were stuck w/ a lazy one who doesn't care that you're going to roast.

7. I feel for you...
it was a couple of degrees cooler down here south of Tucson today but I still wouldn't have wanted to be without a/c. Fortunately, I was at work for most of the day where the a/c works just fine.

12. Yeah, it's just nasty.
We're supposed to have a thunderstorm tonight that will cool it off a little. But the humidity won't help!

15. There are dark clouds and high winds now but
no sign of thunder or lightning yet.

Cold, wet towels can help.

14. I'm sure missing the AZ desert with all the damn rain up here in WA.
But you are correct that A/C is definitely a must at that temperature.

You would think 110 would be hot enough to melt the ice from the outside.
