Scrooge!
what contemporary figure best embodies the literary classic figure?

Ken Lay?

Mr Abramson?

Rep DeLay?

3. he keeps interjecting himself into things - so yes - he counts
and a week or so ago there was a particularly peculiar post from a self-reported Ga Dem insider who claimed that Newt was going to run for VP... with Hillary (though the post was purportedly serious - DU does have a way of injecting humor from time to time.)

2. Dick Cheney
He is a natural. But he would never convert like Scrooge did.

4. Indeed he is part of the camp that vies bushsr's 88 campaign
advisor - Lee Atwater's - deathbed confession and appology (per taking US politics to such an ugly abd base level) as a wimp.

7. forgot about that - he is... "big time"
per *s reference to Adam Clymer (NYT reporter) in the 2000 elections and Cheney's response.

8. personally i think scrooge is just a composite
of repugs.

ahh, dickens wrote such great villains! scrooge the most famous, no doubt, but is there really any dickens villain that doesn't vote right-wingnut? even uriah heap (now there is a true freeper characterization!)!

okay - to answer your question without too much chat about one of my all time fave authors ;-) - scrooge is ... ... aw, f*ck! i can't name the contemporary figure. scrooge was a right bastard that screwed folks most horribly - but he started out with a heart, and reclaimed that heart in the end.

hmpf! now my question to you is: what contemporary figure that you could compare to scrooge has a heart? ;-)
