Though our John is actually of Irish descent, while John Kerry's Jewish grandparents, beginning to fear the anti-Semitism in Austria, emigrated to the U.S., converted to Catholicism, and dropped a pencil on a map of Europe, which fell on county Kerry, in Ireland, and thus chose their new name. And I am not making this up; I saw it on a CNN biography. But they do have the Eastern European part, in common, since John is Slovene. And I'm 1/2 Polish.:D
