News UPDATE: Kitten Born With 2 Faces, Dead
<snip>

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A two-faced kitten born earlier this month in the town of Glide, Ore., has died.

Owner Lee Bluetear said she didn't know what caused the death of Gemini the cat.

But Bluetear said the kitten appeared very tired and did not want to eat.

She isn't sure what to do with the kitten's body. But Bluetear would like to see it used for scientific or educational purposes.

Gemini was born with two mouths, two tongues, two noses and four eyes.

The cat died last Thursday.

1. That's actually kind of sad.
But is has to be better for that kitten that it didn't live very long.

4. It Probably Didn't Help
that the kitten appeared to have been handled/removed from its mama when it was only a day or two old, if that.

5. When I worked at Jackson Memorial in Miami
we had a baby (babies?) born like this. Fortunately, my boss was the attending physician and gave orders not to resuscitate. The baby lived for a couple of days and died a natural death. Very sad.

8. Awww
I don't know whether to be sad or glad. At least the poor little thing didn't have to spend its life as a "freak" and quite possibly deal with people's morbid curiosity all that time.

I hope it went peacefully. It sure deserved it.
