their 60s releases are the only ones that I like (The Brian Jones era Rolling Stones). Get Hot Rocks 1964-1971 for a good starter on the Stones. The first disc, "Time Is On My Side" through "Lets Spend the Night Together" is the best stuff
but on the second disc there is also Jumpin' Jack Flash and Sympathy for the Devil, two kick ass songs


But the Blues, classic R and B and soul is my favorite stuff of all. You need some Muddy Waters, some Robert Johnson, some Otis redding, some Wilson Pickett, some Magic Sam I could go on and on

they did covers and paid royalties. They even got Wolf his first national television appearance, on Shindig! in 1965 where he played "How Many more Times".

The only Wolf song that I can think of that the Stones covered is "Little Red Rooster". Brian Jones was the first Brit and possibly the first white guitarist to play bottleneck slide on record. he really played some good slide on their cover of "Rooster"

I have alot of early stones stuff. It is funny, but the Stones were originally a Blues revival band, and Brian Jones was the band leader. Later Brian was the outcast of the band and one of the 60s first drug casualties, having been beaten down by Mick, keith and Andrew Loog Oldham the manager.
