I just wanted to open a discussion about how people can get offended when you can't hear what someone else is trying to say. By reading posts, we can misconstrue what they mean. And we know that disruptors like to piss us off and all!

I am a cynic and have a dry sense of humor sometimes and in person I don't come off as much as an asshole. I try to type in a humorous way, but sometimes it doesn't come thru like it should.
I don't piss off anyone in "real life", it only happens on here. Go figure.

I disagree with some things people say, but that is normal. There is no one here that I have on ignore or that I won't read their posts.
Now, I'm sure I have said some things that offended other people, but that's their trip...I don't set out to piss anyone off.

I do my best to keep my irritation in check. As long as rules aren't broken, I chalk it up to a matter of opinion and move along.

For that reason, I don't lose respect for them. I appreciate the things we have in common and try to focus on that. No matter our disagreements, I still love pretty much everyone here.

edit to add that my definition of "move along" means argue like the devil, but don't alert or ignore. :)

I have found both here and elsewhere that 'English humour' doesn't always transfer down the internet cable very well. To counter that I assume that when people post the same thing can easily happen in reverse - and I try to make myself more clear.

For the record folk should take most things I say with a very large and humourous pinch of salt (though don't eat it, high sodium diets are really bad for you).
