Not even an "evil genius", despite his accomplishments.

Let's face it, Rove is REALLY good at what he does. If he were working for our side, we'd love him.

As it is, he's a major problem. I can dislike what he does and still respect his talent.

The "talent" and "genius" of Rove have been debated countless times on DU.

I think that just about anyone with a complete lack of conscience or regard for the law can accomplish all kinds of things without having any special talents other than the aforementioned lack of conscience.

I'm hard pressed to respect anything about Rove.

I think we're defining "respect" differently. I don't have respect for Rove in the sense that I think he's making the planet a better place, but I can respect his aptitude for managing the media and public opinion to further his ends.

He's a mercenary, in my opinion...an effective one. I may not like what he does, but I can still appreciate his skill.
