You need a big bowl of bud and a wading pool to dip your feet into.

9. Here you go:
Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 03:13 PM by Kathy in Cambridge
>2-3 bottles of white wine
>3-4 cups of summer fruit (strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, peaches, mango, etc). I use Trader Joe's frozen fruit-they have a tropical mix that's awesome.
>2-3 cans of Goya fruit juice, available on Spanish food aisle in grocery store. I use Strawberry, Mango, and Pinapple Passion Fruit.
>1/2-1 cup of Cointreau, Triple Sec, or Orange Liquer. You can also use Orange Juice.
>White Rum, Captain Morgan's or Flavored Vodka (Raspberry, Strawberry, Currant) to taste (or strength)
>If too sweet ot strong, cut with a liter of selzer.

I change the ingredients according to what I have in the house.

17. Damn! You do know how to make white sangria.
I was testing some pre-made swill my husband picked up to try to take a short cut with our July 4 party. I will most definitely be recommending we NOT go that route.

2-3 bottles...that's the way to make it!

20. You can keep reusing the fruit-it ferments and makes the sangria stronger
Delicious! :9

10. Guinness does not make good Sangria
Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 03:14 PM by Kathy in Cambridge
I think I tried that once in college. Red Sangria is too heavy when it's 100 degrees out.

19. I was married in Massachusetts.
My father-in-law thought it de rigeur to serve Sam Adams, Guinness and Harps as the beers of choice at the reception. Good thing he was paying. The guests concurred.

15. What an astounding coincidence. I was sitting in my backyard
drinking white sangria...but I fell asleep and ended up with a 45 minute nap. It would have been 60 but a short person poked me in the ribs and insisted on having an apple butter sandwich.

78 and overcast (raining most of the day) here, but still a glorious day. Any day with a nap is glorious in my estimation.

By the way, despite my flippant tone I am dead serious. I did begin my late afternoon with white sangria on the back patio.
