Back surgery ended that. If you are a decent swimmer and are learned on ocean wave patterns and how to swim in tides then I highly recommend it. YOu can take lessons or just get coached from a friend...surfing was when I felt the most free...there's nothing like the ocean. Hardest part of surfing is paddling out...the rest is practice
