Was Mr. Roarke satan, or some other sort of demon?
I mean, his island was all about fulfilling fantasies, and often these fantasies were to prove harmful tho the fantasiser due to some sort of supernatural intervention.

And, why aren't I in bed?

4. If I recall correctly he actually took on Satan in one of the last
Edited on Sun Jun-26-05 02:21 AM by lenidog
episodes. All I can remember is that Satan was after someones soul and that Roarke had to fight him. If he lost not only did Satan get the persons soul but Roarke's as well.

7. Maybe he was a renegade angel...

10. They never did explain how Roarke could pull the stuff off
and he would have to have some powerful mojo to go toe to toe with Satan.

13. According to IMDB
Edited on Sun Jun-26-05 02:25 AM by JVS
"Cook was one of five comedians pictured on a set of UK postage stamps issued 23 April 1998. His caricatured likeness was on the 63p stamp. The other comedians honored were Tommy Cooper (20p), Eric Morecambe (26p), Nora Langhorne (37p), and Les Dawson (43p)."

See, he was the 63p bigshot!

8. are we watching the same show?
Mr. Roarke was God, of course. When was a fantasy ever harmful? Usually the guy ended up getting hooked up with Barbi Benton, and that is not a bad thing, is it? As I recall, the fantasies were about finding love, learning something about history, or solving some deep personal problem, of course, with the help of Roarke's super-powers.

22. Remember the early episodes, where he would always describe the guests
as "so mortal?"

So he was immortal, or he was John Ashcroft, one of the two.
