Don't people know how to dress for weddings anymore?
Seriously at my niece's wedding there was a woman in jeans with a black Halter top over a white bra that she failed to clasp correctly in the back (which of course everyone could see). Every picture we tried to take of my niece in her wedding dress had the back of this creature in it with her crooked bra back. She looked like she just rolled out of bed to come to the wedding.

I can see a woman wearing nice slacks but at least be somewhat presentable. I wouldn't show my bra like that anywhere, but a wedding?

2. Was just at a wedding this weekend.
Same experience. Of course the one I attended was in rural Minnesota, so the standards aren't exactly high to begin with.

Saw several guys with polo shirts and jeans. In the church. Things went downhill from there at the reception!

3. I'm having my wedding on the beach
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 08:50 AM by mutley_r_us
(as cliched as that is, I don't care - I like the beach)and I want people to dress casually. But yeah, at least make sure your bra is on straight. Actually, thanks to all the recent wedding posts, I have lots of good info of what NOT to do. Thanks everyone for that!

edit: I've always thought that if your boobs are big enough to REQUIRE a bra that maybe you shouldn't wear halter tops... or at least get a strapless bra to wear with your haltertop.

4. I had one at my wedding too!!!!!!!!!
She was wearing shorts and a old t-shirt.. Her husband was wearing basically the same thing.

Came from my husbands side so I dont feel as bad!! I STILL have people asking me who that was a year later.

5. All the things they told us were tacky are now commonplace.

I see underwear on display all the time, along with yards of flesh, including at church. Did Ms. Fashion Sense have a prominently displayed tattoo as well? That's another thing we're treated to constantly. :sarcasm:

Unless it's a really informal wedding (i.e., everyone barefoot in a meadow), jeans just aren't appropriate at a wedding. Surely if the lady truly had nothing to wear, a kind friend could have lent her a skirt and top, pantsuit, etc.

6. I'm Getting Married in December of This Year
We have told people, and we mean it... we don't care if you just wear a sweatshirt and jeans, as long as you're there. You can come in your pajamas as far as we are concerned. We only care about the people who are there, not what they are wearing. We want people to be comfortable and happy and to enjoy themselves and have a good time.

:)

7. Ha! I can beat that
My sister went to a wedding once that was held in a park. Everything was ok until she noticed the limo driver (friend of groom) was wearing a "Fuck You" t-shirt.

13. My sis thinks maybe the guy thought it was a good pickup line
who knows? I can't imagine what possesed him to wear such a thing to a wedding. Maybe someone double-dog-dared him.

Who else would buy those ugly mother-of-the-bride dresses, not to mention mustard colored bridemaid dresses with huge butt-bows?

17. Haha
We're having a wedding that even YOU would approve of.

Wear jeans and a t-shirt!

Don't worry about a gift!

We're having a lunch buffet -- not just chicken or fish!

We're playing good music on CDs -- not a shitty cover band or DJ!

What more could you want?

much less a wedding.
