But in terms of digital generation of images and animation (lighting, shading, light refraction, etc), I think there's still a long way to go.

Invented by Dr. Alan Kay, winner of the Charles Stark Draper award, who I've met an is really cool. The GUI was first put into use in personal computers by Apple, but was quickly stolen my Microsoft because Apple didn't patent the window/folder setup quick enough.

There, now I've upped the ante, so you have to post some history about your object (just kidding).

Is it just me, or is DU running slow today?
