Anyone heard of Saturday Night Palsy?
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 05:26 PM by bluedeminredstate
I fell asleep in my computer chair and compressed the brachial nerve. Now my arm is numb and my hand is kind of claw-like. Stick a pen in it and I'm a younger, female Bob Dole! It's been 10 days...when can I expect this to get better? The doc just shrugs his shoulders but gave me Prednisone today. It's called Saturday Night Palsy b/c of drunks hanging over the back of a bar stool all night, arms slung over the back-facing chair.
One handedness sucks!!!

2. Brand new to me, but here's what I Googled:
http://www.carpaltunnels.com/cts/radial.html That's a commercial medical service that's blowing it's own horn, but it sounds like good and helpful advice.

I think I've had a touch of it a few times, but it had nothing to do with Saturday night carousing (at least not for the past 25 years). I generally read myself to sleep, and end up by falling aslep in awkward positions.

3. Ok, I'm sorry for your misfortune,
but what a funny name!

Try acupuncture. It seems to work for all manner of nerve-related things.
