4. They destroyed a special package that was headed to me
First they F'd it up in transit.

Then they flew it across the country.

Then they loaded it on a local truck.

And THEN they decided to throw everything inside it away.

Never getting another stinking dollar from me :nuke:

2. No
Tipping begins at zero and increases with service. Doesn't matter where you are.

6. Unless someone is horribly rude to me I will not stiff them on a tip
Both of my sisters worked as waitresses and I know full well how many other factors there are to good service. Hell, I tip them well just for having the stamina to do the damn job under those circumstances.

I always give the benefit of the doubt on what may be going wrong in the kitchen etc..

7. Question:
How much do waiters, waitresses make at a buffet, I mean per hour?

Cause when I go to a sit down dinner, I feel I'm a generous tipper but when I'm at a buffet, I don't tip much.

9. What if there are just two people eating?
Do you raise the tip $1/person for everytime the waiter checks back to refill drinks, or to clear plates?

I always tip $5 at buffets, regardless.

10. If the service is very attentive but not intrusively so
this happens more in Indian places than a given 'Chinese' place, then I'll consider something extra

11. When my boyfriend and i go out to eat we usually tip 15-20 percent,
except when its a buffet its usually a couple of dollars for the person who brings out the drinks. Do you guys tip when you get stuff to go, and if so how much do you tip? I feel like i should give them something but not nearly as much as a waitress.

13. I agree about the attentive but not intrusive thing.
Nothing peaves me more than to have a Cindy-Go-Lucky waitress who is younger than I am waiting on the table and intruding into conversations. That bothers the piss out of me.

14. Generally $1 per person
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 11:56 PM by BuffyTheFundieSlayer
More if the staff was really polite, if they refill the drinks/give us clean plates (some places do that instead of them being self-serve), or if I see other jagoffs giving them a hard time (I feel like it helps make up for their rudeness).
