I love vanilla coke. I thought Lemon Coke tasted like Lysol.

I'm torn on advertising using popular/ known songs in their marketing. I wasn't a fan of this song, so the commercials didn't bother me. Other songs (can't think of an example right now) I've been so angry, I won't buy the product, so I understand those who are angry at this commercial.

coke either. I thought it tasted like Pledge or Endust. But I love lime in almost anything so it was a good combination for me.

I see from the above that this is a real Coke commercial, really using these words, but I just hear it as the Nilsson lyrics. I always disapprove or recycling old hits as advertising jingles, but so long as they only use it to introduce lime coke, it's a comparatively witty spot. Since most people consider it one of the most insidious earworms (meant in the bad way), maybe not the shrewdest marketing move, though. Was one of my favorite songs when it came out (I bought the album), but that was a long, long time ago.

When I get a drink with a wedge of fruit with it (eg, vodka tonic with lemon, etc.) I ALWAYS squeeze some lemon into the drink, then toss the piece of fruit. Why? Because I think bartending staff never uses properly washed fruit, and if the fruit floats in your drink, it'll taste all icky because of the pesticides and stuff on the rind.
