Okay, I am out of GD for-fucking-ever.
I'm too distraught, too angry, too livid over the goingson in this country. Bunch of filthy traitors who use taxpayer money to help exterminate the middle class...

If I read another article, I'm about to say some very nasty shit (e.g. I want thermonuclear armageddon, I am so sock if middle class indolence that they/we deserve the extermination they are bestowing...)

I am tired of it and there is no escape.

Apart from valium, which I suspect I'll have prescribed tomorrow.

I'm tired of it all.

Hopeless and pathetic, our country is. And so am I. But I'd rather be happy. And controlled.

Damn greedy fascists... where's Jesus when we need Him more than ever?!

2. Not sure of your point, but God bless.
I share your frustration, but we play the hand we have been dealt.

3. Who's playing what hand?
Other civilizations have ended for lesser issues than what's going on now.

What I should be doing instead of getting angry over nothing is:

6. LOL.
Still true though.

All I want is food, shelter, and someone to love.

Never had the third. And I'll be losing the other two in a month or two.

7. Okay, THAT sucks.
Not much to ask either (food shelter and someone to love). On days I bitch about the heat, I read a post here from a soldier in Iraq, in the desert, trying to sleep in the heat there, with dust in all crevices and I feel like a jerk. My point? Everything is relative. A problem is a problem. Your problems would suck for anyone, if they were you, and their problems would suck, if you were them.

It sucks you are going through this. It will change. Everything does change, for you, for me and for the soldier I was referring to. One day may seem like a month, but it's going to pass, and we who are suffering can rest assured, that this that sucks, will change. It's inevitable.

That's comfort for me. I hope you find some in it.

8. Burn out
I went through it right after the election. I gave up my local political involvement and stayed away from DU for several months.

You'll be ready in time for the election, Hypno! Until then, !

10. I went through a depression for about 3 months after the election
As sad as the death of my father was in January 2004, I never felt as awful as I did for the approximately 3 months after that awful day in November 2004.

11. I steeled myself for a loss before the election
So I could deal with it, but I think the flipside of me suppressing my anger and frustration was that I stopped caring about politics for a while, thus the burnout. Everyone handles loss differently, don't they?

9. I can only take it in small doses
I used to always post on LBN and GD. Now, I very rarely post in either. I am sure to keep current...but not up to the minute current. We all must keep our sanity.

12. I can relate
and I find that I get depressed so much easier these days because of how far this country has fallen under Bush's arrogance.

14. There was a great cartoon in UTNE this month showing two people
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 11:03 PM by BrklynLiberal
walking down the street together, and one was saying to the other something like "My attempt at staying up to date on current events is interferng with my attempt to remain sane."
I cannot find my issue right now to scan it in. I got hysterical when I saw it becauae it seemed so perfect.

15. Sometimes we have to take
a step back and recuperate from the mental and emotional stress that has been forced on us. I am in a "news blackout" for awhile. I just get so depressed from what I hear on the news and what I read on GD.

17. That's why I've been hiding in here
:scared:

My depression and anxiety just can't take it anymore. I haven't been well since November 2.

I'm no longer a Christian, but sometimes I think the same thing: You know, it would be great if Jesus showed up right now. He'd totally pull a "moneychangers in the temple" with this country, and I'd love to see it.

That's exactly what they want. They pound and pound until you simply give up. Hang in there. We are stronger than this, right?
