Limiting it more this time: your top 10 music artists
I figure that I either have to really limit it or post my list of artists I love (BTW, Alexz Johnson made it (got her import CD!), and I forgot Thea Gilmore and Keren, among others.)

(Not in order except for Beatles) -

1. The Beatles
2. The Corrs
3. Simon And Garfunkel
4. The Byrds
5. CCR
6. The Bangles
7. U2
8. R.E.M.
9. Elvis
10. Indigo Girls

Yes, it could be different later, but I can't think of any overall better than these. Also, there are some artists I like as much, but not over so many albums.

I wore my Willie Nelson T-shirt underneath my professional garb the day after election day last November. I needed to remind myself that there were still great things about this country, and Willie did the job!

I saw them at the House of Blues a couple of years ago and they were amazing. Everyone in the band is great -- and Billy Zoom looked like he was having the time of his life. Oh yeah, John Doe had the biggest shiner I have ever seen...and never mentioned it or told us how he got it.

20. That's a bit hard.
Also a little limiting, since I like a LOT of music, not just stuff that can be classified as pop/rock...I'd really need about three or four different lists, by genre.

But...here's an attempt, anyway.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds
David Bowie
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
Thelonious Monk
John Coltrane
Charles Mingus
Björk
Einstürzende Neubauten
Johnny Cash

As for recommendations, Bright Eyes is worth checking out, as well as Conor's other band Desaparecidos. Death From Above 1979 is great. Just a drummer and a bassist, but god damn they can kick some ass, haha.

My list down below is worth checking out. Especially The Mars Volta and Murder By Death.

Then I have some that I like but I don't even own a CD for..

9. Tom Petty

83. I saw Tiger Army before.
A good time was had by all, the only complaint i have is that their singer is the most vain asshole i think i've ever seen. He tuned his guitar for literally 3 minutes after EVERY song. it drove me crazy. But alas, I enjoy their music.

Check out a band called the Sharks for some good psychobilly.

Haha, after every song? That seems a bit excessive.

41. I did mine before reading anyone else's list. I'm amazed at the parallels
I really have a very long list as I love folk, soul, old authenic country, old time, funk, jazz, acoustic Delta blues (country blues)
and I like many of the new obscure bands I hear.
