1. An only of an only who has an only.
It's culture shock for us when we're in the midst of a large family gathering. =)

4. I liked being an only child as a kid, but now..
I believe it would have been nice to have a sibling. You can't get the full picture as a kid sometimes.

9. Oh yeah and...
...my mom always knew who to "talk" to when something was broken or missing. *sigh* But I have enjoyed my brothers-in-law...I was the first female to join their ranks. It's been an interesting experience!

2. Six, but I feel like an only child ...
... cause my closest sib is 8 years older than me.

All of them are about 18 months apart, then an 8 year gap, then me - the menopausal oops.

11. I need an "Other" category.
I have one brother, one half-sister, one stepbrother, one common-law stepbrother and one common-law stepsister. They are all married and so there are in-laws galore there.

I am also married, so I have a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law on my husband's side.

Definitely "Other."

14. I wish I had an "other" option
Some families really do have 10 or more kids, so I thought others could post.

Really, you need to have the spoiled little sister experience for at least a few days just to know what you're not missing.

22. Five, but only four are living.
We're steps and halves, too, as my Irish neighbor used to say (i.e., a blended family, with half-siblings and step-siblings).

23. Sounds like my family
I have anywhere between 0-11 siblings depending on how you look at it. I've only lived with one of them. Whenever I'm asked I instinctively say two because I'm only close to two of them.
