I can't believe they redid "Herbie the Love Bug"!
From what I understand though, it is being done true to the original version and not the crap that was put out in the 60s. The guy who wrote it back then was extremely pissed off because the director changed so many of the deep and introspective parts of his original script. It made his intense story seem like some childish Disney movie.
I heard that Lindsay Lohan LIVED in a Beetle for 6 months prior to shooting because she said she wanted to "Live and Breathe Herbie". I'm really really excited about this "remake" because it will be true to form of the original idea. I can't stand that slop that they put out in the 60s, it was just too ridiculous, this new one will probably win a few Oscars.

:sarcasm:

1. I have bad news
I've heard that they used digital special effects to reduce the size of her breasts in some scenes. What a travesty!

2. I took my kids to see it.
I liked the original Herbie when I was a kid.

My kids liked the new one pretty well.

Me, I've never had such a boring theater experience. I was fighting to keep my eyelids open. Lindsay Lohan is extremely annoying.

Plus, it was about a car. Who cares about a car? I can watch kids movies if they have cute animals in them. Cars, nooooo.

4. I wanted to see that with my kid yesterday - rated G
but he wanted to see Batman. So caving was a good idea, then?

3. No wonder movie attendance is down
It was schlock the first time around. It simply doesn't interest me.
Another thing that really turns me off on a lot of movies is product placements. They are usually so obvious, you know the way a person holds a soda can so you can read it, logos on clothes. Everytime I see one, I think how I just paid $10 to see a glorified commercial.
Doesn't anyone have an original idea in Hollywood anymore?

6. They'd better start making good productions of novels...
Like LOTR (Without the mistakes) and a Series of Unfortunate Events.

7. I can't believe you can't believe they remade it
Come on, man, you KNOW nothing can be made in Hollywood today unless it's a remake of something that made a billion dollars in its original incantation. Movies are expensive to make and expensive to go to, so the figuring is that people will pay ten bucks to see a new version of something they already know they like over something they might not like.

Besides, if they trashed ten to fifteen 1971 Volkswagen Standard Beetles making this film like they did making each of the original Love Bug films, I'm gonna be pissed. Don't they know there's a shortage of those cars?

9. Hahaha!
For a terrifying moment, I thought you were serious. Then you said something about Lindsay Lohan wanting to be a good actress and then I just KNEW it couldn't be true.

11. My humor just does not come through on DU
I have to give up joking and stick to answering "polls"..LOL. I figured that either this was not really funny or that people are thinking I am serious. It was sort of a parody on the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" threads that were floating around here for a while.
