Excuse the layers of clothes (it was about 10 degrees out that day!) and my poor equitation - this was my first time on Oliver when he arrived to the US. I had never even ridden a Friesian before, and their gait is HUUUUUGE. Plus Oliver has some incredible knee action going on, and I was pretty unprepared for it! Yes, I bought him without even riding him first...only saw a video and knew I wanted him :)

I have never ridden one of those before. What's the trot like with all the knee action? My horses are thoroughbreds... my grey gelding Regal Bull often confused my asking him to open up his stride with "go faster." I started riding him with my hands set rather wide at the trot (kind of a no-no in the hunter world) but this allowed me to provide a consistent pressure to the outside rein while tweaking the inside rein to ask him to drop his head... Within the past week he is dropping his head, and going long and low and smooth like they want on the hack in hunter classes.

Equitation is overrated, especially with green horses, or new horses... you ride with what works until you get 'em trained, hahaha!

I consider myself to be well traveled and well read. I’ve traveled all over the United States, including a 2 month stay in Hawaii (it changed everything). I have also spent a little time south of the boarder in Mexico City and a few small towns south of there. I’ve proudly served in the United States Army several years ago and was booted out with a medical discharge due to a permanent foot injury. I was very upset at the time, but now glad I’m out. I have worked in a State Prison as a Correctional Officer. I consider myself to be a proud gun tottin Liberal Democrat. I’ve done some course work at local community colleges, have a 2-year technical degree and have more than half of the required credits to receive my undergraduate degree at Indiana University. I have a very diverse background and normal feel at ease in any crowd, unless you’re a “ditto head” those people really scare me. I’m clean cut with an attractive healthy body and a positive disposition. I have a good job and like to help others.

This is me and my baby boy HA all 6'5" of him....taken last week. Yes he has my attitude about cameras. This is the baby boy whom by the way has just this week decided he will NOT enlist in the marines when he graduates next year as he has planned since he was 14 (he's 17 now)...he said, and I quote:

"After spending the summer with you mom, I've dediced that man in the white house is a fucking lunatic and there's no way I'm working for him. Maybe someday when we have a real commander and chief I can be an MP like I've always wanted but no fucking way right now."

Sweeter words to a worried mother were NEVER spoken. Love ya Brian!!!
