Man Charged In Friend's 'Surfing' Death On Top Of SUV
David Weyrens, 19, Dies From Head Injury

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. -- A Kansas man was charged Wednesday in the death of a friend who was "surfing" on top of a moving sports utility vehicle and fell off and hit his head.

David Weyrens, 19, was on the top of his Land Rover Discovery when the bar from a luggage rack apparently broke off and he fell to the pavement. He later died of a severe head injury.

John McKenzie, 19, of Topeka, Kan., was driving and swerving the vehicle. He was charged with second-degree reckless homicide in Sheboygan County.
