I [heart] my teenager.....
:eyes:

Drove my teenage son to his summer job (he works at the YWCA in their child care summer camp from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm). Found out when we get there that they're going on a day-long field trip.

This changes my afternoon plans cuz now I need to be available for him whenever he gets back (someone else was going to pick him up @ 12:45)

Thursdays are my day to work alone (my husband is golfing today)and leave early to get other outside the office and house things done.

Now I'm stuck at the office this afternoon waiting for the call that he got back and then running him around to do the things he needed to get done this afternoon.

It's not a huge deal, but I'm gonna make him pay. :grr:

(Yes, he knew about the field trip, just FORGOT to tell me so I could make other arrangements)

Did I say ?

4. Did they covey my feelings sufficiently enough?
There is really no reason to be mad, I mean it's one afternoon and I didn't have anything planned other than going home to do some yard work (and stopping by the hardware store on the way there). So it's not like he ruined my life. But why couldn't this have happened on Wed. or Fri. when my husband and I would have been at the office all day anyway? Did I anger the leisure gods? :eyes:

5. Plan ahead? Plan ahead?
teenagers don't plan ahead. And don't let parents know if there is anything happening ahead of time. I heart my teenager also and commiserate so with his friends parents. :eyes:

At least she doesn't have sensitive skin!

You want to see it, don't you? Gaze upon the evil "make out chin"! Arrrggghh! (I was better this time around and I have two full weeks to recover again. Still thinking, "Hmmm, I wonder if it would be better if he just grew a beard. :D)

16. A couple of weeks ago it was the first time
that the 'boys' went out on their own. One of them has their license and he drove everybody to the movies (I met them at his house after because he didn't want to drive on our road at night...lots of deer, coon, cats, rabbits on our road).

It was four hours of worry and wonder (wonder what Mom and Dad will do with junior out of the house :pals: hehehehehe)

19. naughty mom!
;-)...i'm sure you'll find plenty to do!

i think when my son first drives, i will restrict him to daytime driving, to and from school, basketball practice and work. if i feel that i can trust him, i might add shopping and movies to the lot. good luck!
