Cats have their own special way of showing their displeasure...

As I found out when I took Mischief in for his annual rabies shot this week.

Hubby made an appointment at a place clear across town and Mischief no likey car rides.

So while hubby was driving, kitty decided to show his displeasure by jumping on my shoulder and defecating on me.

Note to self: Cat-carriers are your friend.

1. Was it spite or fear?

I've never had that happen. I do use a cat carrier but once carried a cat on my lap for 30 miles when we moved when I was a kid. She was as good as gold.

I just took mine in for their shots too. I always talk soothingly to them when they're in the car and turn the carriers so they can see each other (at least then they know they're not being singled out).

9. It was probably fear....he was VERY vocal about the car ride.

It was my own fault, but we had very little time to get to the vet and I didn't have time to go get the carrier out of the basement.

Hubby said the vets just fawned over Mischief and how purdy he was and how siamese and sweet he was.

Meanwhile I am cursing my olfactory lobes in the car.

my cat used to like to crawl behind the brake pedal while in the car. Needless to say I bought a cat carrier.

That made for a very exciting drive.

that's a new one. Mine usually just pees in my shoes, although we have recently come to an understanding. She doesn't pee in my shoes when she's mad at me and I don't ignore her when she's having a bad fur day.

7. My dog does that when she gets on the exam table.

#1 and #2 all over the place. And then she is so gassy. I know I shouldn't be embarrassed, but I can't help it.

8. Get the kind with two doors, one on top and one on the end

Much easier to top-load a cat, and they figure out the side exit is the fastest way to get out once they're home.

We have one for each of our cats, and they've never been easier to transport. Only one of them likes the car (out of 7), so we can take them with minimum damage to us.

12. so far only 2 pee accidents

and they only cry(meow heads off)when being trasported. i don't use a carrier. they get leashed. damn cats weigh too much. and they have to be civilized.

15. Both of mine get put into carriers.

My female is very vocal, and sometimes the male will try to mimic, but he's actually not afraid. He's well behaved when its just him in the car.

16. Oreo did that on me....

about 11 years ago when I first moved to Dallas from Austin to go back to school.

I had the U-Haul all ready to go, and no kitty carrier to put her in. I was carrying her out to the truck and she peed all over the front of my shirt.

Fortunately, I'd thrown a change of clothes into an overnight bag, so just grabbed another T-shirt to change into.

And thank God it was January, so it didn't get super hot and disgusting. It was chilly and cold, so it wasn't bad.

I also learned during the trip that she got carsick. A LOT.

As soon as I could get a carrier I did!

17. Last time I took one of my cats to the vet she peed in the carrier

She had peed in the carrier in the car and the vet assistant took her to clean her up. You should have heard the yowling coming out of the back room! When I went in there she was wet from her bath and wrapped in a towel with the "I want you all to die!" expression! lol The vet asst was good, tho -- by the time I left she had kitty purring.
