11. My dad used to say that, and it irritated me.
Not the "fucking" part. Just that people are stupid. I was young and I thought he was just old and cynical. Strange, I was just thinking yesterday about how much I find myself agreeing with my dad of late.

I miss him so much, but I'm almost glad he's not here to see what's happened to this country he loved. Although it would be fun to hear him pronounce our pResident as "just pitiful." He would use that term with such disdain, sort of like Barney Fife; it was really hard not to laugh.

15. is intelligence an absolute thing or a relative one?
I tend to go with the absolute. I think it is funny, in two situations I have had co-workers talk about how stupid other co-workers are or how stupid the customers are. Not to brag....but as the guy with the master's degree it is probably a safe assumption that I was one of the smarter people around, and yet I did not feel the need to notice or comment on how stupid other people are. Just because I know a few things that they do not, I do not think that proves they know nothing. (I mean some people are so ignorant that they do not even know where the Little Brown Church is, sheesh.) If I cannot explain something to them does that mean they are too stupid to get it, or does it mean that I am too stupid to be able to explain something?

17. most of my relatives are intelligent....is that what you meant?
Okay, just kidding.

Sometimes self-affirmation is all the praise a person gets (and for some people putting others down is the only way they know how to climb onto the pedestal).
