There are a bunch of CRIMINALS at the prison where my friend lives
I sent some musical instruments to the Arts in Corrections Coordinator back in April, now the Coordinator says she never received them.

I traced the UPS package. It was signed for at the dock by "Earl".

Fuck Earl. Earl is a criminal.

1. I'm sorry, slackmaster
Do you think they can recover the package or perhaps they have long since been pawned by this Earl?

I swear, it's true -- no good deed goes unpunished.

Very frustrating.

2. I left a voice mail with the arts lady
Will try to call her again, and will write a letter to the director if I get no response.

It's a real PITA trying to deal with the prison system even if you aren't in trouble.

3. UPDATE - Spoke with the Arts in Corrections Coordinator
She's confident that the instruments will be found.

She says that Earl, a prison employee who works in shipping and receiving, is notorious for losing track of things. Great job for him, eh? Earl's coworkers refer to him as "the Black Hole". :D

5. He's an inmate
Really a nice guy when he's not on narcotics. When he IS on narcotics he does weird things like robbing ice cream stores for money.

6. No way man, must have been a lawyer
Everyone inside is innocent, they're there because their lawyer fucked them. I think they'll find the package, prison labor doesn't pay that well and ya gets whats ya pay fer.

7. Actually my friend the inmate admits his problems are all his fault
As long as he's not on narcotics he's a normal, mature, reasonable person. He thinks he got a shabby defense from his public defender, and most people who watched the trial including me agree. But he was guilty.
