My Neighbor Is Such An Ass!
OK - bit of a long story. Normally my husband and I park in the driveway, but a few years ago we had some repairmen over, so my husband parked on the street. One of the teenage girls living across the street was backing out and hit my husband's car. About a year ago, he was parked on the street (different car) because some repairmen were over and the other teenage daughter backed out of her driveway and hit my husband's car! So, the sheriff comes and tells my husband he was parked illegally, that you can't park on the street, which is a public road, residential, no "No Parking" signs and lots of people park on the street (including my neighbor).

Well, this week my Mom is out of town and since we live close to the airport, she left her car here. So, the neigbor says something to my husband about being parked across from his driveway (we can't park further down because there are mailboxes & a fire hydrant). So, my husband moves my Mom's car to the other side of the street. This evening, a sheriff comes knocking on my door telling me to move my car. He was "nice" and didn't write me a ticket. Meanwhile, one of my nieghbor's daughter's friends is parked in the street across from MY driveway, which makes playing musical cars a real treat, I tell you. I can't believe the sheriff would just be driving by & happen to pick on my Mom's car (unless it was the "W is for Wrong" bumper sticker), I bet my neighbor complained. Like I said - ASS!

1. I know what you mean...
My neighborhood is a nightmare--too crowded than it was 10 years ago. Too many family members living under one roof in almost every home which means many cars street parking--you pretty much have to tell them to use their driveways--luckily I'm looking for a new place and get away from this nightmare--in East L.A.

2. They need to look before backing up. My neighbor like that...
had one of my trucks towed a number of years ago. My step-kids saw her outside and asked politely if she'd seen anyone move it. She said she'd had it towed then cursed them.
I called the law and reported it stolen, and filed charges on her for using abusive language. The Policeman told her she had 15 minutes to get my truck back here or he was arresting her. He had seen it had been legally parked. She got six months probation out of it and never spoke to us again.
:)
