I just finished watching the season premiere of "Monk".

Perhaps a cut above the writing last season. Looks like they corrected their missteps from last year.

Although I sincerely hope Jason Alexander doesn't mind being typecast as George Costanza for the rest of his life.

1. I noticed that his sidekick was MUCH less annoying...

than she was last season. Maybe she will grow on me, but I miss Bitty.

5. They made a biiiiiiiiiiig mistake when they let Bitty get away.

This woman is not even close.

That's a drag. I heard it was between Bitty and the producers. She and the other two male leads all asked for more money. Producers said no, the other two said okay, Bitty walked.

Is Tony really that much of a dick?

6. I wasn't going to say it, but I agree with both observations.

I have seen this new sidekick in another show and she wasn't at all shrill. I'm glad to see her tone it down, but I wish she would review her earlier work on other projects to continue fleshing out the character on Monk.

2. He was nothing at all like George Costanza.

On Monk, his eyes were shut tighter than George's. And he didn't have George's trademark short temper.

See? Nothing at all like him.

I almost stopped watching last year was so bad....

But, let's just hope they are clearly revived....

A big sacrifice. The show was soooo good the first two seasons.
