9. Don't just stop at legal action.

Ruin them every step of the way. Ruin their careers, their livelihoods, their reputations in their hometowns. Find out where they work, what church they attend, what groups they are members of. Nail them to the ground. Take out full page ads in their local newspaper w/ the info that you already have about them. Fill out anon personal ads for gay dating in their names (people like that hate that first and foremost). Write letters to their ministers about what they have done (this can sometimes work but not always-depends on their religion) and send copies of your info w/ the letters.

Legal action is nice but ruining someone's reputation is alot more fun. I've done it once and I'm not afraid to admit to it. I enjoyed hearing about that asshole having to move out of his hometown because no one could look him in the eye anymore and he was unemployable. In my case, the local police did nothing when he should have been arrested for what he did to me. I ruined him socially instead.

If done right vengeance is very sweet.

Back then there was no precedent for wrongful death suits to follow a murder trial (especially not in Mississipi of the 1950's), but the local people shunned the two men, boycotted the store they owned, forcing it to close down, and they had to leave town in disgrace.

I am, however, big on retribution, and accountability. Justice, too.

Whoever these slugs are, and I must admit I am unclear on that, for I have not followed the saga of them all that closely, they do have a glaring lack of insight and impulse control, and deserve to be taught stark lessons regarding that lack. Especially when it crosses the sort of line that they apparently did.

But, even more, you have the ability to break new ground with this: It is no secret to any of us that the right, for all their crocodile tears and pious protestations on the matter, has made a rather robust industry from the gears of personal destruction. "Throw it against the wall and see if it sticks" is their industry's business plan. It is marketed to a demographic that thrives on gossip, innuendo and the belief that at our core, each and every one of us is just as bad and broken and mean and worthless as they are, so destroy people by any means necessary and available. That philosophy presupposes that every means is available because if said means does not exist, Making Shit Up is acceptable. Whatever they say, someone will believe it, or at least, consider it possible and plausible.

People love nasty gossip.

I am going to watch your efforts with great amusement and interest. I have, in my past, been the victim of terrible lies that affected my life greatly. You have a chance to change things with this. You have a chance to achieve a measure of real justice.

I've just had an anger attack this A.M.; I basically want to tattoo the Bill of Rights to the forehead of every single right leaning yahoo in the world - starting with the current administration. It won't change what inside their twisted little heads - but maybe someone will get the truth as the evil approaches!

Why am I so angry before 9AM and coffee? Okay, those are both things that normally irritate me - but the extra anger belongs to the following:

First news story I saw on local news (Houston) was the rewarding of the recruiter who sparked the whole "ethics" shut down of the Army recruiting system.

Houston's KHOU who first exposed SGT Kelt just reported that the guy got a promotion! He's now commander of a recruiting station. The officer in charge of recruitment for the state of Texas told the reporter that Sgt Kelt showed creativity and determination - so deserved the promotion.

Next news story was about Englund (Abu Ghraib). Apparently, she didn't understand that she was waiving her right to self-incrimination. Maybe she was another recruitment error, eh?
