When will Chief Justice Rehnquist announce his retirement?

I'm hoping it doesn't happen between now and 2pm...because if that happens, my show gets pre-empted for live coverage from NPR.

Waddaya think? Will he do it this weekend? Or wait until the beginning of next week?

2. Next week. Monday or Tuesday. He's not going to do it this weekend.

The weekend is a slow news cycle. Plus, the Sunday talk shows are going to be about the London bombings and the G8 summit. I think Rehnquist is vain enough to want a lot of media attention on his announcement.
