MOUNT RUSHMORE NATIONAL MEMORIAL, South Dakota (AP) -- Call it a makeover of monumental proportions.

A crew began a project Thursday to wash the granite faces of Mount Rushmore to remove decades of dirt, grime and lichens that can damage the complexion of the four presidents.

3. Most will think this silly,

but as an absolute junkie for symbolism and a sometimes "magical thinker", I got the same great warm fuzzy feeling from hearing about this as I did when I heard that Gonzales (the torture dude) had removed those over priced absurdist shrouds over the Justice statue's breasts.

They're unwittingly doing really good magic against their own falsity.

When they tactlessly shrouded Lady Justice's oh so offensive mammary glands (and thereby her heart center) just look at what ensued. . .the end of the rule of law, accountability, fairness, habeus corpus, adherance to the Geneva Conventions, et al. Then when the shrouds were removed, we got exposure of the DSM's, possible exposure of Rove, and that World Tribunal on Iraq war crimes that was held recently in Istanbul.

Now by removing the toxins, and fungi from the visages of some of our more thoughtful and sensible true Presidents, maybe, just maybe their collective vision for our country and our extreme diversion from their intentions will be clarified.

I know I'm being silly but I sincerely feel very, very, very good about this.
