Assman, WI

I nearly choked on some coffee yesterday; I was going through a copy of DeLorme's Wisconsin Gazetteer (very detailed map book), when I came across Assman, a town near Manitowoc. The Inner-Thirteen year-old laughed off and on all day yesterday. Yeah, I know it's childish and stupid, but then again, so is naming a town "Assman"

Speaking of goofy names, there is a town called Pipe. That's really fucking original. And speaking of fucking there is a Fukking in Austria.

Back to Wisconsin and it's lack of originality: There's a town near Ladysmith, in my neck of the woods, called Siren. You may have heard about it a couple of summers ago; it as well as half of Ladysmith was decimated by a tornado, common in the northern-midwest, along with thuderstorms.

The AC is on good and high right now as I wonder if there are other weird name travelers here.

Mapquest tells me: "Your search for "assman, wi" did not match any locations. Please revise your search." But I did find an Assman Rd near Manitowoc and, pity for them, there is apparently a family with the surmname Assman.
