Any knitting experts here?
I have no problems with the most intricate cables or other types of knitting. At least until I tried this sweater I'm making now. It has a row of sheep knit across the chest. (It's really cute.) My problem is I don't know how to change color. I tried it one way and I have big gaps between the grey (the Main Color) and the white (Contrasting Color). I seriously don't know how to join the second color.

The main body of the sweater has flecks of white - one stitch every 5 stitches. I've been carrying the white yarn across the back and that seems to work ok. But it didn't seem right when I was working the sheep.

Can anyone give me advice or point me to a website with great directions?

Thanks so much!

1. I believe that's called intarsia knitting...
that is, when you have large blocks in another color.

Here's some directions:

Good luck! I'm no expert but I've been trying to learn all this in the last year or so.
