4. Not to dis what you've shown us here, but,
may I suggest you draw on paper or paint on canvas?
Do not depend on your computer for your creative outlet. Use it as a tool.

7. just wanted to try a
different medium...in a small apt with kids sometimes space is just at a premium...and computer is just a space saving way to draw...although it does sort of seem like swatting a fly with a sledgehammer...but i wonder i do it more will i get faster at it? drawing with a mouse is just too weird...

8. That's pretty cool
Maybe you should get a Wacom tablet. Makes drawing on a computer much easier.

10. I got one for Xmas
The Graphire3. Cheapest one you can get, but I absolutely love it. Don't know what I'd do without it really, haha.

11. Yeah, they can get a little pricey
Go for the Graphire3. It's kinda small, but still works great. Mine was around $120 Canadian.

This is a good detailed explanation of vectors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_graphics

It's one of my favourite types of art actually, I just love how it looks.
